Face Painting

When you go to a fair you also see a little booth with smiling people, images of butterflies and lions painted onto children's faces with bright paints.

However, this children's tradition has ancient roots. Face painting has religious and cultural traditions and was used for hunting, military, theater and artistic purposes.

Now we use cosmetic paints, that are safe on the skin, unlikely to cause irritation or damage.

Here you can learn simple beginners face painting techniques, like those employed at fairs.

Face painting may seem like a child's game, but it is full of history and tradition and requires the same love and skill of any other art form.
